About IPv6NET

Years from now, IPv4 will only be an important part of the Internet’s history, but for now it remains the dominant Internet Protocol and a pending danger to the Internet’s expansion. The transition from IPv4 to IPv6 is an ongoing process which will eventually lead to the end of the IPv4 era. Now it presents the Internet community with many challenges. One of those challenges is to decide which transition mechanism is the most feasible for a certain scenario.
The IPv6 Network Evaluation Testbed (IPv6NET) is  a research project whose ultimate goal is to obtain feasibility data in order to formulate a coherent, scenario based IPv6 transition strategy.
